Hamilton City Local Area Plan
Beca, 2010-2012
Between 2010 and 2012, I played a key role in developing a Local Area Plan for Hamilton’s central city, focusing on promoting growth, enhancing livability, and revitalising the underdeveloped riverfront over a 30-40 year timeframe. My contributions included identifying precincts, creating precinct plans, preparing design guidelines, and shaping objectives, policies, and rules for the revised District Plan. Through consultations with Council and stakeholders, I identified future development sites and prepared concept plans. I also participated in workshops and presented draft concepts to Councilors and the Mayor. Many initiatives from the plan have since been adopted, with more recent developments integrating the river into the central city and enriching Hamilton’s urban character.
